Year of the Tiger

I've always heard about the Chinese New Year celebration in February in Chinatown and have missed it every year. This year we finally got there and enjoyed the experience!

All we had was Cameron's dying iphone so this next picture is off google but is what we watched down there. It was really cool!

Kids danced in these dragon like costumes to music and the audience feeds the dragon tons of cash through its mouth! Cameron decided next year he wants to be a dragon dancer for sure.

In this picture, I was eating (or pretending to eat) a "Jin Doi"-- a fried mochi ball (the size of a baseball) covered in sesame seeds. Cameron and I both agreed there will never be a second experience with the jin doi. I think oil ran down my mouth as I bit into it.
We had to try something new, right?
Happy Chinese New Year!
