Poor Cameron. He's usual so active and always doing something and now he can barely walk. But I guess he can do hopscotch. We were on our way to the Surf Sample Sale (which wasn't worth going to) and he found this.

Luckily the Olympics are on right as Cameron gets injured so we've watched so many of the events! I'm so amazed by the abilities and endurance of the athletes.

I was thinking about it today, my job is so perfect for me. I absolutely love going out but instead of it being on me, it's all on Jeanne. Going out to eat every Tuesday and Thursday with her is such a treat. We go to some of the nicest places in Honolulu and just eat together as friends. After that we go shopping and sometimes to a movie, we get dessert on the way home and then I do all her grocery shopping for her. It's really ideal. Jeanne is such a generous person/friend/boss and she's a hoot. Tomorrow it's lunch at Sam Choy's... yumm...

We're in the middle of painting right now!! Can't wait till it's done! :)

what a lucky guy...

oh what a week we've had!

So first off... on Saturday afternoon, Cameron had just finished eating the hamburger I made him and offered to clean the dishes. I told him thanks but I would do it. Cameron then suggested that he should finish cleaning our windows on our second story and I thought that was a good idea. When he was up there, I told him he was scaring me and I was not going to look. I went to my desk to do something at my computer when all the sudden I hear, "Whoa... whoa... WHOA!! LINDSAY!" The ladder he was on had slipped from underneath him and down Cameron went too. I looked out the window to find Cameron lying on his back on the ground with the ladder fallen next to him. I instantly thought he had broken his back but found him to only be holding his foot. We got in the car and headed to Kahuku Hospital. The nurses were surprised to only see an injured foot after falling from the second story window and said he was really lucky. It turns out that the only thing that happened was a very sprained ankle.
What a blessing! We were just hoping for a clean break but only a sprain! Cameron was very blessed and we were so thankful that he was safe.
Yes, his sprain has been a huge nuisance but came at a good time with finals.
This is our house...
Cameron fell from our second story window!

Well before the fall, on Friday night Cameron set up a nice date for the two of us. We've both been craving garlic shrimp from the little shacks on the road so that's what we did! We were the last people at Giovanni's and we didn't get very much shrimp but it was so good! Cameron and I took our dinner of coconut rice (thanks Rachele for the recipe...delish!), garlic rice and shrimp and headed to Sunset beach. We were having a perfect time until it started pouring! We quickly ran to the car to eat in there. I put our food on the dashboard but... opps! It slipped off. I tried to catch it but it didn't really work.
So... off to Ted's Bakery where we filled up on chocolate eclairs. We got a movie, tried malasadas, and stayed out of the rain. Cameron's date was perfect and he was so thoughtful to plan it all out even if it didn't go as planned.
I love my wonderful husband.
And I love taking care of him while he's recovering from his fall.

Also, Jeanne and I went to lunch at Inspiration down in Honolulu. Yes, it is an amazing furniture store but there's also an amazing restaurant up top! The food was great, kind of pricey, but if you want to feel like your dining at a trendy New York restaurant with a view of the city, go here! I had an excellent spinach Cesar salad with bacon and radishes and a steak sandwich with aioli sauce that was to die for. :)

Ewww... I do not like big breakfasts. I just had a huge one and now I remember that I feel like a slug all day when I eat that much in the morning.

The mustache is off! Cameron shaved it off the other night and boy does he look so nice clean shaven! :) This is Cameron (with his eyes closed) eating at Costco the other day. Berry Sundaes from Costco are divine.

Saturday night Cameron and I went to Macy's to pick out Mama Collins a birthday gift. While I was picking out the perfect thing, Cameron and I look over to see a guy holding a girl in a head-lock forcing her through the store. At first we thought that they were kidding but realized the girl was crying and her friend was yelling. A female store associate went after the the two and so did Cameron. The weirdo guy finally let the girl out of the head-lock but then grabbed the female sales associate by the neck. Cameron pushed the guy a few times, yelled at him, and weirdo guy finally decided he should stop and just walk away. Kind of scary to see this all go down but I'm glad everyone came out safe from it. And hopefully the cops got a hold of the weirdo guy.

Thank heaven today is Thursday! Working over 40 hour weeks is tough even if it's not the most strenuous work. Oh and if you are in the mood for some really good food in Kailua, go to Formaggios! It's quite a hip place and the food is AMAZING! It reminded me of a restaurant that would be in San Diego. Don't be surprised though when your check for two comes to a total of $65 or more. And all sides are extra (none come with dinner). They are open till 1 p.m. on the weekends with live entertainment. Both Jeanne and I loved it. The Lobster Bisque is to DIE for!

read it!

An email Cameron shared with me today that I think is clever, interesting, and touching.

A Message by George Carlin:

"The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but na rrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

"We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, get up to o tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

"We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

"We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

"We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

"These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and sm a ll character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

"Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

'Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

"Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only t r easur e you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

"Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

"Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

"Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

"AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."
